We are excited to announce multiple new hires in our Central Illinois and Chicago office locations. These talented new team members will support increased project demand and help achieve continued growth throughout the firm.
First up, Nineveh Rasho! Nineveh joined the Chicago office as an Architectural Intern in September of 2017. Her admiration for architecture started when she was in elementary school. This early realization of how important and impactful architecture is on the human environment empowered her to jump-start her journey in studying the field. Nineveh’s education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign formed her desire to push for designs that will positively change the future of architecture and the people that encounter it every day. She is particularly passionate about community development and urbanization, understanding that thoughtful designs can greatly affect the livelihood of people and places.
In her spare time Nineveh loves to practice yoga and read books of many genres. She loves trying new foods, traveling to new cities and countries, and is constantly seeking a new adventure or challenge.
Also in our Chicago office, Carolina Achong joins BLDD as a Structural Designer. Carolina has recently completed her Masters of Architecture with a concentration in structures at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She developed an interest in architecture and the effects of design on human behavior while studying abroad in Africa. She became passionate about building structures during her junior year in undergraduate school. Her main career goal is to become both a licensed architect and engineer which will give her a more comprehensive understanding of the industry.
Outside of work, Carolina enjoys sketching, taking long walks, playing Super Mario games, spending time with her family and pet tortoise, traveling, and doing yoga. She also enjoys learning new things about building design and construction, technology, and psychology.
At our Central Illinois location, Brandi Holtzscher joins BLDD as our newest Assistant Business Manager. Brandi brings years of administrative experience to the firm and is a pro at multi-tasking and organization. Brandi is a people person to the core and loves meeting new faces and forming new relationships with her colleagues. Her kindness toward her team and positive attitude help drive her success.
When she isn’t in the office, Brandi enjoys traveling with her husband, taking long bicycle rides and hitting the lanes with her bowling team. She also enjoys games shows and hopes to find herself on the Wheel of Fortune one day!
Brook Paslay joined the Central Illinois office in October 2017 and is the newest member of the BLDD marketing team! Brook brings over 12 years of marketing experience to BLDD, with a diverse range of skills from graphic design to digital advertising. She is a huge fan of collaboration and enjoys working with the other creative minds at BLDD to take in new perspectives and find unique marketing solutions for the firm.
A self-proclaimed camping guru, Brook is always looking for a reason to unplug and get outdoors. The Ozark’s are her destination of choice, but anywhere there is wilderness (and s’mores) you’ll find her. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family whenever possible.
Carrie Wade returned to BLDD last November after a two year hiatus working for an engineering firm, where she gained valuable knowledge to help her become a better architect. She has worked on many types of projects from fitness centers and higher education to healthcare facilities and elementary schools. Carrie is a great resource to BLDD and we are thrilled to have her back on the team.
In her spare time Carrie enjoys reading, especially if the tale involves a love story between a Southern belle and the dashing Mr. Butler. Otherwise you can find her catching up on Mad Men or indulging in a run or yoga.
